Rhodes Reason, Linda Miller, Akira Takarada, suit-mation dinosaurs and a robot gorilla! How can it get any more fun than this?!!!
A staple of my childhood, I made sure to catch this one every time it played on tv back in the 70s. Loved it then, and I still love it now!
and for comparison, the original Japanese trailer.
and heck, why not…here is the German trailer!
And now I am sure you will want to run out and see this film and you can, it is available on DVD at better video stores everywhere (and Amazon.com, too).

It has long been one of my top favorites. I can still remember the very first time I saw the picture. I was home sick from school, must have been second grade, and it was playing on Dialing For Dollars. It seems to me that I only saw the last quarter of the film at that time.

Again, me too! My main memory is of the actress saying “Put me down, Kong, put me down!”

Ah yes, the lovely Kipp Hamilton.
I interviewed a friend of hers, actress Diane Jergens, and we talked at length about Kipp and I am pretty sure we covered her role in this film, but I do not recall for sure. I have yet to transcribe the audio tape that the interview is on, but now I am curious.

Wow. How did I miss this one?
I was watching the english trailer and happened to pause it just as Kong is about to be attacked by helicopters and throws his mighty arms into the air. Great shot! And I love that poster. Beautiful.
Thanks for posting this.

Great memories donnie boy. I first saw it when I was home sick from school, 3rd grade, so must have been about 1973. It was on Dialing For Dollars and I only caught the last half of the film, but it can still remember the feeling I had watching it that first time.
