Ew, so this is what our parents were up to while we were home with the babysitter! Who knew?
Another colorful shlock-fest (this time filmed in Chicago) directed by the wonderful Herschell Gordon Lewis, who could make even the most tawdry subjects look pretty!
“See desparate, frustrated suburbanites!”
Note: I have yet to see this particular film, but seriously, how could it not be totally fabulous!

That’s exactly what I thought went on in the suburbs – exactly!

Banno
Like a film version of ‘Desperate Housewives’??

It was filmed in Wood Dale, IL a suburb of Chicago, not in Florida.
Some of the opening stock footage may have been from Florida, leading to confusion.
Banno is correct. The narrative style of this film is almost exactly like Desperate Housewives.

Thank you HF, for the filming location info. I forgot that Herschell made a number of his films in Chicago, and I should have fact checked before posting (it has now been corrected).
H F, I am guessing you are a Lewis fan? I have become so fond of his 60s films…just saw GRUESOME TWOSOME the other week. Any idea whatever became of actress/writer Allison Louise Downes who worked on so many of his films?

All I know about Allison Louise Downes is what is at http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0235905/
You could email HG Lewis at hglewis1@aol.com and ask him, but he sold the rights to his movies decades ago and doesn’t remember some details. He usually responds very quickly.
I watched the filming of parts of Suburban Roulette when I was a kid. I had forgotten about it figuring it was some obscure adult film until the internet became the world’s larget encyclopedia for useless trivia.

Thanks HF,
I did e-mail HG Lewis some months back inquiring about Allison but he had no idea where she was now. The IMDB lists that the two of them were married at one time, but H.G. indicated that that information was incorrect. He has know idea how that rumor ever came about.
Allison was a model for Bunny Yeager and I left Bunny phone message last month, but she has not responded. I just need to call her again. I talked to Bunny a few years ago about a couple of other people and she was quite helpful.
